Ingredients
- 201g Egg
- 64g Whole-wheat bread
- 120g 1% lowfat milk
- 150g Plain Greek yogurt
- 3g Granulated sugar
Method
- 1In a shallow bowl, whisk together 4 whole eggs and 120ml low-fat milk until well combined and smooth.
- 2Add 150g Greek yogurt to the mixture and whisk until fully incorporated and creamy. The yogurt will add protein and richness.
- 3Add 1.5 teaspoons of ground cinnamon (or to taste) and 3g granulated sugar to the egg mixture. Whisk thoroughly until the cinnamon is evenly distributed throughout.
- 4Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Lightly coat with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- 5Take one slice of whole-wheat bread and submerge it in the egg-yogurt mixture for 1-2 seconds per side, ensuring it absorbs the coating without becoming overly saturated.
- 6Place the coated bread slice on the hot skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and sets properly.
- 7Carefully flip the French toast and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- 8Transfer the cooked French toast to a plate and repeat steps 5-7 with the remaining bread slice.
- 9Serve immediately while warm. The high protein content means this meal can be eaten plain or with minimal toppings (fresh berries, Greek yogurt dollop, or a small drizzle of honey if desired).
- 10Optional: For best results, eat within 30-60 minutes post-workout to maximize muscle protein synthesis.
